Cooking it up with Chef Vicky Pacheco

My love for cooking is something that will always stay in my heart.  I think I got this interest since I was a child. I would always sneak to the kitchen just to watch my Dad do his cooking.  My favorite Aunt also encouraged me to try cooking.  She inspired me a lot, that I should cook with your heart.

I may be a Super Mom as what my daughter calls me, but when not in the mood for cooking…my answer is to eat out! Exploring different restaurants is actually one of my favorite things. I get to eat new food and at the same time, I also get ideas of what to serve my family.  

I got so excited upon receiving an invitation from my former schoolmate, blogger friend Joy Mendiola of www.occassionsofjoy.com .  A cooking demo at The Maya Kitchen, the one located at the 8^th floor of Liberty Bldg. Arnaiz Ave., San Lorenzo, Makati City.

The cooking demo by Chef Vicky was so light and informative. I could say that she’s the Speed Chef! Why?  She moves swiftly! Can you imagine, showing five dishes in just 2 hours. That is something so amazing for me.

I learned five new recipes from Chef Vicky today.  And to name it, Flatiron Brisket, Manhattan Fish Chowder, Pizzaiola Pasta, Pomelo Orzo Salad and Chicken Piccata. Everything’s so good to my tummy. And seemed so easy to cook!

We took the chance of going to Tipas, Taguig for the very first time. We're all clueless on how to get there and the google navigator made us confused.  Anyway, we were finally able to reach the controversial Rasta Conner that my sister has been nagging me for us to visit.

The friendly staff initially served us their best seller refreshments. I loved the Choco Hut Fudge! It's really chocolateeee! You will never go wrong getting this drink of overflowing toppings. So tempting and sinful! Waaaahhh!

The strawberry frost is my daughter's choice ultimate favorite. She got excited with the thingy on top of her strawberry frost.

I can fly with these tasty wings! Another favorite on my list. Buffalo wings like this can make you finish an order or two. You have the option of how spicy you want your wings. They can do it mild or extra spicy. I love the mild one, it still has a kick of spiciness that I can handle. Plus the duo of blue cheese and honey mustard gives more thrill on this meal. Every bite of wings makes me sip my creamy cookies and cream shake. Truly,A  Perfect Combination!

I learned from the Operations Manager of Granny's that they do not really stock frozen patties. They serve fresh meals every day! They go tho the market every day! What an effort!  This is Granny's selling point! NO FROZEN MEAT! It is a big difference!
