Today is Friday, it's my daughter's TGIF! But before she enjoy her weekends day off from homeschooling, we did some HELE ( Home Economics and Livelihood Education) class first.

I got some fresh lumpia wrapper from the market.

She simply followed the steps from her teacher mom!

I did the slicing of course.

Step 1
Put 2 slices of cheese on the middle part of the wrapper.

Step 2
Gently wrap the cheese by rolling the wrapper

Step 3
Use water to make the wrapper stick to the its end

SIMPLE WRAPPING in less than a minute for each sticks

THE CRUNCHY CHEESE STICKS!
with the pink dip (mayo and catsup mixed together

It's easy to prepare! You may store it in the freezer if you are able to make a lot sticks. You may thaw it or directly put on a hot pan with oil ant time you feel like having some cheese sticks at home.

Review:UNCLE CHEFFY | Unlimited Chicken and Pork Cracklings Experience

I came from a morning event and not able to prepare anything for lunch for my  babies (husband and daughter).  For super late lunch today, my family and I went all the way to MOA to try this  promo.

Here are the 5 things I always use for reviewing a restaurant.  I do not usually include the value of money though...

This is our first time to dine in here. I just want to share with you my experience with Uncle Cheffy.

AMBIANCE ***

The establishment has a one side clear glass wall where you can see the beautiful view outside and the bay from afar.  If you will dine in the afternoon, you can get a chance to see the beautiful sunset.  By the way,  I like their native dining chair.

UNCLE CHEFFY in MOA

The interior design of the restaurant is nice. However, their air condition system is poor. They have two and only one was working during our visit. I honestly can not enjoy my meal if it's not cold enough in the dining room.

Here's the fried chicken, pork crackling and chicken morino w/ oriental

The UNLIMITED promo is good for 90 minutes only, by the time you started with your first serving the clock will also start ticking.  Meaning, you have to eat as fast as you can if you want to get the value of the promo. It goes with 1 serving of ice tea. If you wish to have a bottomless one you need to add P50 and if you like to have rice it's P25 only single order.

THE FRIED CHICKEN -if fried well, it would almost taste a little like Max's chicken. Good thing my daughter was able to eat some. My husband actually decided to consume more of the fried chicken than the pork cracklings or the oriental chicken morino (if I'm not mistaken with the name).

THE PORK CRACKLINGS - according to the staff, this is the jaw part of the pork that is why it's so fatty. Unfortunately, it's not crunchy or anything...it's just friend and I was expecting for the skin to be crispy as I can see from the ad. It lack flavor, can't even taste the salt or pepper. It's just a plain thick fatty slices of pork.  I even suggested the server to please have it fried well.

THE CHICKEN MORINO W/ORIENTAL SAUCE- it taste like adobo served with oriental sauce. Not impressive though.

Did not eat much since the pork is so "kaumay" (got tired of the tasteless pork), didn't also like the two variants of chicken.:(

FOOD **

SERVICE ****
The service is ok. The staffs are accommodating and were receptive of my suggestions. Like, "can you please ask the chef/cook to fry the pork well and better slice it thin so the fats can be cooked well.

INTERNET ****
The internet connection was also good. At least I was able to check my fb and mails while having our later lunch.

**I always check the powder room, they have none inside the resto. You have to step out and walk to the building's common wash room.

It's our first time and probably might be the last...We haven't tried their other dishes though.  Maybe on our next visit....if there's next...

Honest Review:  Sad Tummy:(

BULGOGI BROTHERS Greenbelt 5: Best Korean Restaurant!

5 REASONS WHY WE LOVE
BULGOGI BROTHER'S, GREENBELT 5

1. THE FOOD

The dishes are amazingly great with beautiful presentation.

This is the best quality Korean food we ever tasted.  We've been dining here for like 3 years already. We have our basic 3 favorites every time we dine in and would sometimes try a different dishes from their menu from time to time . But we really had some feasting last Sunday since we had our meal there for our brunch.  We are the family of Ang who loves to eat, eat and eat!  The little girl has her own favorite, the father has his own usual order and the mother has her favorite as well.

They always serve variants of appetizers while waiting for your main course.  A Korean BBQ restaurant with refillable appetizers for free! They are also serving house tea of different kinds, unlimited servings too!

Marble Potato

Radish Kimchi

White Kimchi
It is the mild version of the origina red kimchi

KIMCHI

House Tea and Sweet/Spice Salad

Lil' Girl's Favorite!

She loves the crispy triangular shaped deep-fried tofu with it's yummy sauce. This lil' girl can finish a plate of this eaten with the sticky rice that they serve.

TOFU STEAK @ P325

8 pieces deep-fried tofu served with teriyaki sauce, beef and beansprouts

Dadi's Favorite!

With this bowl of bulgogi bibimbap, my hubby can eat vegetables without any fuss! It goes with carrots, beansprouts, cucumber, raddish kimchi, eggplant the brown thing that looks like roots...I also love this one! A complete meal of everything that goes with tasty soup and spicy beans paste to spice up your bowl.

BULGOGI BIBIMBAP @ P395

A Korean traditional favorite! A healthy bowl of mixed rice topped with vegetables, egg and bulgogi.

Mami's Favorite!

Because I love chicken dishes, I always get at least an order of this tasty and crispy chicken that is served with caramelized sauce sprinkled with sesame seeds. You will not be satisfied with one piece, you'll definitely get your 2nd, 3rd grab.

                                            CRISP CHICKEN WINGS @ P350
Sweet spiced fried wings that is so tempting

OTHER DISHES WE TRIED LAST SUNDAY:

                                                     SWEET DESSERTS

What's New with Bulgogi Brothers?

2. THE AMBIANCE

One of the most coziest place, I will never get tired of visiting.  It's nice and clean with it's modern and classy interior design. They actually have a good ventilation system that can let you leave their establishment without smells that sticks to your hair and clothes, despite the shabu-shabu, barbeque and table cooking with their induction stove.

Weather I do a business meeting or friends, family gathering, I always bring them here to have a try of  our favorite dishes.  It's like we are bringing them to our own dining room.  We really enjoy the place, the staff and their food!

This is actually an extension of our dining room.

3. THE SERVICE

The manager and staffs are responsive, friendly and so accommodating. One reason that made us from coming back again and again. It's a place like home for my family. My daughter has a lot of photos with their staff. Unfortunately, I would need ample time to go over my huge files of pictures for sorting.

4. STRONG WIFI

Despite the campaign of some restaurants for NO WIFI Zone, we have to admit it that we can not totally do without it. Most us has been doing mobile businesses.  We always need to keep connected.  An establishment with  a good wifi connection is an obvious plus even when dining in.  Wifi is already included in Maslow's pyramid (hehehe).

5. CLEAN POWDER ROOM

I am sorry for showing you this. But this is a part of my requirements, a good restaurant should have a comfortable powder room. They have an extremely clean and well maintained wash room with complete supplies.

Here at Bulgogi Brothers,  GREENBELT 5 you dine in and relax!

Come and visit our 2nd Dining Room!

MATI'S MEAT & BREAD: Affordable Prime Steak in Town!

First time to attend Bloggers Lunch @ Mati's Meat and Bread. Got so excited to taste their extraordinary dishes. A fusion of American, Spanish and Filipino dishes I could say.

If you like steak but you're in a tight budget, no need to fret as Mati's Meat and Bread offers the best value for Steaks at affordable prices.

Opened in October 2014, Matis Meat and Bread is located at the new extension of Festival Mall which has the stunning view of River Park. The ambiance is so relaxing. I really love their location!

The dining area is huge, so spacious. I really like high ceilings too. The long stairs will bring you to the kitchen area and function room.

The restaurant's walls are made of clear glass giving it's diners a view of lush green landscaping.  Also catering towards yuppies, millennials and young at hearts (with caution, watch the b.p. first). Matis Meat and Bread is a perfect place to sit back and enjoy a nice meal of premium dishes and steaks at reasonable prices.

Mati's has a cozy dining area. A perfect place for a date, family gatherings or chit chat even with your friends and colleagues.

Whenever I visit a restaurant or any dining place, I always check the wash room.  Mati's got a nice and clean one with wood flooring and bidet sprayer.  I believe that an establishment with a good comfort rooms are the ones who are successful. Why, because dining in is just like eating in your own house, you must have a comfortable comfort room if in case of any nature's call. Will you go back and visit a restaurant with ugly wash rooms?

The most important part...

Mati's Interesting Menu!

CREAMY SPINACH DIP @ P280
Oh So Yummy Dip with toasted bread to start you meal.

THE REFRESHING ICED TEA

The controversial TRUFFLED BONE MARROW @ P385
One of the #putok batok starter, it taste really good yet so sinful...

MAMA'S BUFFALO WINGS with Bleu Cheese @ P245
You'll never go wrong with the tasty wings!

BALUT ALIGUE @ P195

My 7 year old daughter loves to eat plain balot. This time, she got to taste it with a twist! It is served with creamy crab aligue that made this dish extraordinary.  She loved it!

OYSTER ROCKEFELLER @ P450

It's never too late to try new things. My discovery today, oyster taste good! They have this freshly baked oyster from the shell. A must-try!

We got PIZZA GALORE!

 SALPICAO PIZZA @ P385

BIA'S FOUR CHEESE @ P365

PESTO JALAPENO

TALI'S GAMBERETTI @ P350

Mati's Special Tacos

CHORIZO WITH POTATO HASH AND CREAM CHEESE @ P275

CRISPY PORK BELLY WITH KIMCHI & NORI CREAM CHEESE SPREAD @ P235

MATI'S HEALTHY SALAD

 VINCE'S CHICKEN ARAGULA @ P225

CAMILLE'S SPINACH & ARAGULA BEAN  @ P195

MATI'S PASTA! PASTA!

TRUFFLE PASTA @ P398

SEAFOOD PASTA @ P340

BEEF SALPICAO!

This is my favorite! The beef is so tender, like it melts in your mouth! It goes with tasty rice that compliments the flavorful beef.  It could look ordinary, but it's not. It's so yummy (sarap talaga)!

Your dining with Mati's will not be complete without the steaks.  They have different kinds of steaks that varies from burgers to Salpicao.  The Certified Angus Ribeye steak that can be "cooked table side" so you can control how done you wish to have your steak or the USDA Steak which is the best seller.

 CERTIFIED ANGUS RIBEYE @ P1,400

THE BEST SELLER USDA STEAK @ P425

Don't forget the Desserts

 RED VELVET CAKE

 ECLAIR CAKE

CHOCO FUDGE

What A Gastronomic Day!

Mati's Meat and Bread is owned by Paul and Caron Macasaet. Young couple entrepreneurs! By the way, they are so cool and generous too. They actually named Mati's after their son Mateo.  The restaurant is a subsidiary of Melo's Steakhouse who pioneered Certified Angus Beef in Philippines.

Mati's Meat and Bread is set to open a branch in Bonifacio Global City Taguig before the end of 2015.  I am so excited since I live nearby!
